About us
About METTA Dāna Foundation
MDF is a not-for-profit social welfare organisation. On 14/09/2022, the handful thinktank took a collective decision in London to conduct a slew of mass initiatives in and around the prevention and management of non-communicable diseases(NCD) in India and parts of S Asia and in some places in Africa with intellectual support from the already developed nations. Conducting school awareness programmes, adopting T1D kids from economically deprived sections and conducting diabetes camps in villages, “live - hands-on workshops among communities, providing free insulin/medicines/tests to those who cannot afford treatment and running a low-cost ambulance service are a few of the various the activities we are currently undertaking. Our flagship community programmes presently, are supporting the Kazi community of West Bengal.
We seek to empower them with educative counselling skills for disseminating the message of safe and healthy pregnancy across the families of the wedded couple. We’re further making a registry for effective screening and constructive gameplan. We wholeheartedly envisage working in close association with the LGBTQ community to raise awareness that combats obesity and diabetes in that particular social demographic. With similar idealistic approaches, the Calcutta Social Project(CSP) is an internationally awarded NGO who caters to the nurturing of underprivileged children. Taking care of their shelter and nutrition, education and development, CSP hones values whose social welfare angles tie in especially well with our core beliefs. This is why we have chosen to collaborate with them: our values and aims are aligned. We seek to serve the community through medical investigation, and long-term treatment of ailments through practices that are sustainable while actively bearing the cost of such treatment. Our foremost aim is a "Healthy Community- a Happy Nation".
